Beauty of the little things

Something that inspires me in animals is their curiosity and creativity. They never give up, and never complain. They know when they need to accept life as is and move on, go and graze somewhere else. But even then they won’t give up, they will make the best out of what they have but keep their eyes open, ready to take the opportunity when it arrives. They never miss their chances, and never waste their time/life on regrets and whinging.

If this cow was a human she would probably lament thinking: “Life isn’t fair. No matter how hard I try, I just can’t get to the yummy food. Why not?! Why me?! Why they can and I can’t?!“ But she is “just” a stupid animal, she doesn’t have the “intelligence” necessary to whinge and waste life. Therefore, after she tried all the options and couldn’t get to the food, she went to graze on the paddock, but as soon as I opened the gate to the yards, she was in the yards.

The day didn’t go to plan. Work in the morning took significantly longer than expected and understandably George was getting annoyed. As every week I was late for our trip to town, though it was the last trip to town before him going away for 6 months. I wanted to do something nice for George and have lunch with him in town, but all coffee shops were full.

My hairdresser forgot to write down my appointment and when I walked in, she was surprise to see me. Luckily she still could fit me in, I just needed to wait longer. What do you do when everything goes wrong and the world seems to be against you? Just take your dog and go for a walk, and enjoy the wonderful autumn weather! Find beauty in the little things and keep smiling.

Another day when things didn’t go to plan. I was in the city feeling overwhelmed with work and somehow hopeless. In the evening on my way back from the office to my accommodation I thought to myself: “Days can be very busy, we will go through ups and downs, some battles we win, some we lose, nonetheless, regardless how many battles we fight, and how long the day is, it’s important to find time for ourselves and just enjoy the moment. Otherwise we lose this what’s most important in life – we lose ourselves, our health & we will miss on life”

We all write a book, each & every one of us writes their own book of life. And the art of living is to write a bestseller. The story could be boring, but a good writer can turn the most boring plot into the most engaging and captivating book, into a bestseller.

It’s not about the story, it’s about the writer. Our life doesn’t depend on our circumstances, our nationality, religion or skin-color, on the situation of our family or our own financial status. It depends only and solely on us, our mindset and our determination to make the best out of what we have. what we want to make out of our life.

Not every sunrise looks splendid. Sometimes the sky is grey & it will stay that way the entire day. Other days start grey, but with time the misty rain stops, the clouds retreat and sun will show it’s face. If it’s grey now, it doesn’t mean it will be grey 10min later.

However, even if it stays grey, it doesn’t mean it will be a bad day – we just need to find beauty in the ordinary. If your day don’t start the way you wanted it, don’t just give up because everything could change at any time. And even if it doesn’t, try to find a way how to make the best out of the day, instead of whinging and complaining it’s not as it should be. Grumbling will never help, looking at the bright side at least will stop us from wasting our energy, keep us calm and content, ready for the next day.

This was interesting experience. I went to the bathroom, opened the toilet lid &… noticed the toilet was actually occupied. Maybe I should have knocked on the door before I entered?

I tried to catch the little green creature, but it jumped all over the toilet bowl before, probably accidentally, jumped on my hand. It was cold, breathing heavily & holding strong to my hand. I took it outside, and then my little friend decided it felt quite good on my hand and didn’t want to leave. We played for couple of minutes, before it jumped off to the grass and disappeared in the darkness of the night.

This is Freddie watching me working on a fence. His destiny was to be a hamburger already couple of years ago, but… I just couldn’t do it, I just couldn’t sell him. He is such a lovely creature, very friendly and curious, he will wait for me at the gate when I’m going to feed my cattle. When I park my tractor, he will come to the door and wait for me until I get out. He was too cute to become a hamburger. And so his new destiny is to be my ‘big black dog’.

For me Freddie is a reminder that our destiny isn’t necessarily written in the stars, it actually is in our own hands. Somehow Freddie, just by being the wonderful special self, convinced me not to sell him. I’m definitely in control of my destiny, and I hope you have taken your destiny into your hands and do the best out of what you have.

Me: “Daisy no, we went through all the boxes already yesterday – there is no mouse!”

Daisy: ”Please, please, just once more! I’m sure I will find the mouse!”

Me: “Maybe tomorrow, definitely not today!”

Daisy somehow doesn’t get it how much work it is to move all the boxes!

My garden got a bit neglected – it was time to do some spraying. Soon I will need to do some pruning too – it’s sad to see such a big branch to break off.
